PRUNUS laurocerasus ‘Otto Luykens’

Laurel -

0379 “Cherrylaurel is a dense, evergreen shrub native to southeastern Europe and Asia Minor. The compact habit and narrow, shiny, dark green leaves of the cultivar ‘Otto Luyken’ make it a superior choice for smaller garden areas. The leaves provide a nice foil for the spikes of fragrant white flowers in spring. Black fruits follow the flowers.

Otto Luyken cherrylaurel grows fairly quickly and best in moist, fertile, well-drained soil, accepts sun or shade, and tolerates salt spray. It excels as a low hedge or in the mixed border or foundation planting. In nutrient-poor sandy soils new growth may look abnormally lean and scraggly.”

Winchester Gardens generally stocks this item.
